We&#8217;re into the best time of year-not too cold, not too hot, not much concern about rain or winds\u2026if there&#8217;s anything better than hanging around with a bunch of your fellow hams, it&#8217;s setting up your own station for some portable operating. We&#8217;ve got a LOT of new hams in the county, and this is always a good opportunity to get them on the HF bands.<br>On maps it\u2019s the \u201cRancho Potrero West Entrance\u201d from 11:00 to 3:00pm. This is next to the horse rental\/boarding facility on Potrero Road in Dos Vientos, up the hill from Cal State Channel Islands. The GPS location is 34.155935, -118.982024. If you\u2019re familiar with what3words.com, it\u2019s barbershop.state.ribbing. Bring your own refreshments. There are restrooms at the site, but no electricity-bring those batteries.
